Anya Talor-Joy is slated to co-star with Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) in the upcoming action movie The Gorge, which Apple Original Films will now be officially releasing. The movie’s exact narrative is still a mystery, but it will be an exciting love story. As production picks up, more details about the movie will probably become available.
Zach Dean wrote the script for the project, which will be directed by Scott Derrickson, who has previously helmed successful movies like Doctor Strange. Alongside C. Robert Cargill and Sherryl Clark, Derrickson will create the project under the banner of Crooked Highway. The movie will also be produced by Zach Dean, Adam Kolbrenner, and Greg Goodman in addition to Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger. Teller is involved in The Gorge as both a producer and a star, in addition to acting in it. When The Gorge finally comes out, fans may find it to be an intriguing movie to watch because it has a talented cast of actors and directors associated.
With the success of the Netflix blockbuster series The Queen’s Gambit, Taylor-Joy, who has previously appeared in hit movies like The Witch and Split, has also found success in television. She played the lead role in the now showing in cinemas Viking epic The Northman and Amsterdam this year. Taylor-Joy will co-star with Ralph Fiennes and Nicholas Hoult in The Menu, which recently had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, in addition to The Gorge’s eventual release. The Super Mario Bros. is one of the planned projects.
After their successful partnership on films like The Greatest Beer Run Ever, which is currently streaming on Apple TV+, and Luck from Skydance Animation, which was released earlier this summer, Skydance and Apple will work together again on the movie. In addition, Skydance and Apple are working together on The Family Plan, a comedy starring Mark Wahlberg, and Ghosted, an action romance starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.
