Mphasis, an Indian technology business, will generate 1,000 new employment in northern England.
According to the region’s mayor, who recently returned from a trip to India, the West Yorkshire region of northern England would receive 1,000 new employees from the global technology and business process outsourcing firm Mphasis.
Following a recent trade mission to India, West Yorkshire’s mayor, Tracy Brabin, announced on Friday that she had generated a multimillion-pound investment for the region.
Newest investments
The newest investment by Mphasis is expected to be completed within the next two years and will strengthen the company’s current position in West Yorkshire, where it now employs 500 people in the city of Leeds.
It builds on the company’s previous year’s creation of a UK center of excellence for its insurance clients in Leeds.
Mphasis has chosen to invest millions of pounds in West Yorkshire, and I’m happy to have them as a member of our business community and partners in developing the area, said Brabin.
She claimed that the development of these 1,000 new jobs will have a big impact on our economy and would open up exciting new career opportunities for West Yorkshire residents.

During her trip—the first since the pandemic shutdown from the region to India—the Mayor of West Yorkshire visited the global offices of Mphasis in Bengaluru and met with senior executives to discuss the project and potential collaborations.
