Due to remarks made by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, former WWE Women’s Champion Sable is currently trending on Twitter.
The most recent podcast episode “Foley Is Pod” featured a discussion between Foley and co-host Conrad Thompson on Sable. The Hardcore icon praised Sable and said she should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Without a doubt, Sable deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame. She was one of the most over-the-top women of her generation, but I think it’s just a matter of when and if,” Foley said.
Given that Sable has been stepping away from the spotlight lately, it will be fascinating to see if she is considered for a Hall of Fame induction.
Fans reacting
Fans arguing for and against Sable’s selection for the WWE Hall of Fame sparked a discussion on social media.
Sable, married to Brock Lesnar since 2006, made her WWE debut at WrestleMania 12 in 1996 while serving as a waitress for Triple H. Triple H is a WWE Hall of Famer and Chief Content Officer. She eventually started a plot with her ex-husband Marc Mero. Sable would go on to defeat WWE Hall of Famer Jacqueline Moore and win the WWE Women’s Title at the 1998 Survivor Series.
She was the first WWE star to appear on the cover of Playboy in April 1999, and her edition was one of the best-selling Playboy issues of all time.
Sable left WWE in June 1999 and sued the company for $110 million, alleging sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions.
Different sides -different opinions
Later, former WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon hit back at her for using Sable’s name; however, the two sides settled out of court in August of that year. Sable became the first woman to have two Playboy covers in the same year when she used her real name, Rena Mero, for her September 1999 cover.
Sable made an appearance for WCW as an audience member on Monday Nitro on June 14, 1999. Subsequently, on November 13 and 14, 2001, he made another appearance as the promotion’s XWF CEO. Later, in April 2003, she returned to WWE and engaged in a feud with CoverGirl’s Playboy and WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson. He then fought with Stephanie McMahon, who is currently WWE President and Co-CEO, while playing the role of Vince’s lover.
