After three years of marriage, Paul Wesley, a former cast member of The Vampire Diaries, and his wife Ines de Ramos are supposedly no longer together. A couple’s representative reportedly confirmed the couple’s breakup to People, stating that they had been living separately for a while. The couple was married in February of 2019.

According to People, the former couple’s rep insisted that their mutual choice to separate was made and stated, “The decision to separate is mutual and occurred five months ago. They request privacy at this time.” Wesley and Ramos originally made their love official on Instagram while attending a friend’s wedding in 2018.

A year later, the couple was photographed wearing matching wedding bands. Wesley’s co-star on The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev, also appeared to confirm their nuptials when she referred to Ines as his “wife.” In an interview, Nina spoke candidly about her relationship with Ramos and stated, “We hang out a lot. We’re really good friends. I love his wife. It’s so funny how time changes everything because I never thought he would be one of my best friends.”

Wesley discussed quarantine and life at home with Ramon and their dog Greg during the COVID-19 outbreak in an interview with PEOPLE. He said, “I’m in a fortunate position where I was able to take a break, and it was so important for me to do it.” He added, “For me, I reset. I recalibrated. Kind of realized what was important to me, reprioritized my life.”

Wesley hasn’t talked much in interviews about his connection with Ramos, but the actor and Ines have been spotted becoming close on social media. The ex-couple didn’t hold back when it came to professing their love for one another on Instagram, posting anything from sweet birthday notes to pictures of trips taken with friends Nina Dobrev and Shaun White. In addition to a cute selfie, Paul wished Ines a happy birthday in December 2020 and referred to her as the “Queen of the house.”
