The Acolyte, a new Star Wars television series, will welcome actor Charlie Barnett to its roster. In the Netflix time loop mystery series Russian Doll, Barnett played the character Alan Zaveri, for which he is most known. He has also appeared frequently in other well-known shows, such as You and the final season of Arrow, in which he played John Diggle Jr., John Diggle’s progeny.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Barnett is finalising agreements to take on a supporting part in The Acolyte. The co-creator of Russian Doll, Leslye Headland, who is also serving as showrunner for the next Star Wars series, would be reunited with him thanks to his casting. Barnett’s character, like the majority of other aspects of The Acolyte, is a mystery.

There are no hints as to what part Barnett will be playing other than the fact that the show takes place in the High Republic era. Barnett will be joining a cast for the show that is expanding, including Lee Jung-jae from Squid Game, who was recently given a major role. Barnett is a wonderful addition to the ensemble of The Acolyte because of his experience with reality-bending fiction.

While information about his part is still scarce, the chance that he would play a supporting role suggests that his character will end up appearing on screen frequently throughout. When The Acolyte airs on Disney+ in the future, he should make for an intriguing presence onscreen given the notable parts he’s played recently.
