A potential deal between the Utah Jazz and the LA Lakers is still under negotiation.
The two teams traded Patrick Beverley with Los Angeles in the off-season for Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson.
According to NBA reports
Jazz was one of the clubs Purple and Gold contacted for a potential trade when they discussed moving Russell Westbrook all summer.
The Jazz is eager to move forward with rebuilding their roster and the LA Lakers have expressed interest in switching to Bojan Bogdanovic.
According to previous NBA speculation
The Lakers are unlikely to move Westbrook this summer because they don’t like offers on the table for him.
According to Tony Jones of The Athletic, the 17-time champions are still negotiating with the Jazz for Bogdanovic.
Jones said: “With the Jazz currently having 17 players on the roster, they need to cut at least two before the regular season starts.
Despite ongoing discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Jazz doesn’t seem to be particularly close to a deal that would give them more resources and help solidify their roster.
Only Russell Westbrook’s contract can be moved for equal pay by the LA Lakers.
They must give up at least one choice of the first round of 2027 or 2029 to close the deal.
However, the Lakers held out.
It will be interesting to see if they change their minds on this as Bogdanovic looks suitable for the team.
Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and New York Knicks are also interested in the Serbian forward
In addition to the LA Lakers, Bojan Bogdanovic is chased by three other teams. For many competing teams, Bojan Bogdanovic is the perfect commercial target.
He shoots and scores the ball efficiently.
Last season, the Utah Jazz striker averaged 18 points per game, shooting 38% from over.
Bogdanovics’ contract will also expire shortly.
In addition to the LA Lakers, teams interested in his services include the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, and New York Knicks.
The Jazz appreciates it at least as much as a choice in the first round.
As they are rebuilding, Utah also wants young players or veterans with expiring contracts, along with a draft fee.
So it will be interesting to see which team can create a package that can be beneficial to both sides.
