Roman Reigns made WWE history by breaking a record that had stood for 36 years. Reigns won the Universal Championship by defeating Braun Strowman and The Fiend. Roman Reigns has held the title of Universal Champion for 730 days; he will make an effort to hold it for as long as he can.

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has created history. It has been two years since Tribal Chief became the Universal Champion and 730 days later, he continues to reign in the WWE. Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman and The Fiend to win the Universal Championship at the PayBack premium live event on this day.

Roman Reigns withdrew from WrestleMania 36 and went on a break. He then made a surprise comeback at SummerSlam on 23 August 2020, attacking The Fiend and Braun Strowman. Apart from this, he also teamed up with Paul Heyman and he got a match for the Universal Championship in Payback.

Roman Reigns signed the contract and became a part of this match. In the end, Roman Reigns pinned Braun Strowman to win the Universal Championship. From here the reign of Roman Reigns started. He then defeated Jay Uso, Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Cesaro, John Cena, Finn Balor, Brock Lesnar, and Goldberg for their championship.

At WrestleMania 38, he faced Brock Lesnar in the title unification match and he also won this match. With this, he was able to become the new Undisputed Universal Champion. After becoming the double champion, Roman Reigns has so far defeated Riddle and Brock Lesnar for this. He’s now going to defend his undisputed Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre in Clash at the Castle.

Roman Reigns has now completed 2 years as Universal Champion, but you will be surprised to know that before him this feat happened 36 years ago. Yes, Hulk Hogan became the WWE Champion in 1984, and in 1986 he completed two years as the WWE Champion. He held the championship for 1474 days and eventually lost it against Andre the Giant.

Right now it has been 730 days since Roman Reigns was Universal Champion and he will try to remain champion for as long as possible. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see which superstar manages to end his reign.
