Superstar Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant will stay put for the time being. According to a statement from the franchise, all stakeholders intend to proceed together. There were several rumors about potential trading partners before this conclusion. Shams Charania of “The Athletic’s” podcast claimed that the New York Knicks have made inquiries regarding Kevin Durant.

I believe calls were placed. Kevin Durant was called by the Knicks, but I believe both parties were aware of it, explained Charania.
In the summer of 2019, it was widely reported that Durant would sign with the New York Knicks as a free agent. Durant, though, decided against going to Madison Square Garden and instead opted to play with Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets.

To entice KD and another superstar, the Knicks had constructed two max spots. Durant chose not to take part, though, so they had nothing.

The captivating summer of Kevin Durant

The front office and real estate of the Brooklyn Nets were hesitant to give Kyrie Irving a maximum long-term contract. The franchise’s situation was about to explode. Irving chose to use his player option, but Durant asked for a trade the next day.

The Nets considered what would happen if they lost their two top players in the same summer. It was widely speculated that Kyrie Irving wanted to play with LeBron James again and that the Nets would trade for KD if they acquired him.

About the teams

The Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns were Durant’s favorite teams to play for.

The Brooklyn Nets, however, demanded an All-Star player in every deal, and neither team was able to meet their demands.

The Boston Celtics were said to be getting Durant for Jaylen Brown and generating money as a result of the deal’s failure to go through. The Nets, however, turned down this offer because they wanted Jaylen Brown to go with Marcus Smart or Jayson Tatum.

Joe Tsai, a two-time winner, gave Durant an ultimatum during a meeting they had earlier in London. He requested that Tsai trade him or dismiss coach Steve Nash and general manager, Sean Marks. Despite Durant’s demands, Joe Tsai continued to stand up for his staff.

The Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant opted to reject his ultimatum for the upcoming season after it was met with silence and no action.
