After more than a year of on-and-off negotiations, Paramount+ announced that it had ordered to series a new season of the hit drama Criminal Minds, starring six of the show’s most beloved actors: Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, and Paget Brewster. The FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) will soon make a comeback to television thanks to a 10-episode reboot series that Paramount+ has ordered for the platform. The series, which essentially serves as Criminal Minds season 16 but with a few minor variations from its original run on CBS, will follow the profilers as they seek out a network of UnSubs who used the coronavirus outbreak to cause havoc.

What is the release date of Criminal Minds: Revival?

The Criminal Minds reboot’s release date has not yet been made public. In other words, we continue to follow up on fresh leads. But it’s clear that the team is back in place for official production. Joe Mantegna, a veteran of Criminal Minds, teased the announcement on Twitter. He shared a picture of himself giving the thumbs up while on the shoot. He captioned it with the phrase “Criminal Minds” and said, “Just doing a little inspection today for an upcoming project.”

Cast of Criminal Minds:Revival

The cast of Criminal Minds will mostly be back for the remake, but there will be some significant omissions. SSA Daniel Henney’s prior commitment to Amazon’s Wheel of Time has led to Matt Simmons’ confirmed absence from the project. In contrast, Gubler’s absence is solely a professional decision because the actor, who played Reid in the procedural for 15 seasons, wants to focus on other projects. Although it’s still unclear how their absences will be handled, there is a persistent belief that the reason BAU’s boy wonder is no longer on the team is because he has turned into a UnSuB.

Plot of Criminal Minds:Revival

Criminal Brains centres on an elite group of FBI profilers who study and predict the actions of the nation’s most bizarre, er, criminal minds. With an astonishing 324 episodes and two spinoffs, Suspect Behavior and Beyond Borders, the CBS original aired for well over a decade. After Criminal Minds’ 2020 finale, its captivating characters have continued to enchant viewers for 15 seasons.
