Myha’la Herrold has recently joined the cast of Black Mirror’s highly anticipated sixth season as reported by Deadline. Herrold, a rising star who also starred in the A24 horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies, is now one of the confirmed names to appear in an episode of Charlie Brooker’s acclaimed anthology. For the time being, Netflix is keeping casting under wraps.

Fans can anticipate even darker themes and a more cinematic vibe in Black Mirror Season 6 after it was given the go-ahead in May. After several casting announcements, viewers may anticipate seeing more well-known figures, like HBO’s Industry star Herrold. It is unlikely that information about her part or episode will be made public before the show’s debut. The plot of Black Mirror is infamous for being well guarded secrets.

Despite being a relatively fresh face on the big screen, Herrold is moving quickly to establish herself in the industry. Herrold was cast as the ex with a grudge in Halina Reijn’s socially conscious dark comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies after her critically acclaimed performance for HBO’s drama series Industry. The self-aware poke at Generation Z and Millennials was made more terrifying by Herrold’s fascinating and scary performance. Her other credits include the Hulu series Plan B, the Netflix version of Modern Love, and the recently finished Leave the World Behind with Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke.

Black Mirror uses our incapability to be trusted and our fear of human stupidity. The Netflix series is, in a word, depressing but also intriguingly dark. Each episode features a fresh filmmaker with a distinctive style, well-written and beautifully shot narratives, and frequently episodes will also include A-list personalities. Previous episodes were directed by Otto Bathurst from Peaky Blinders, Euros Lyn from Doctor Who, and Joe Wright from Pride and Prejudice.

The most recent episode of Black Mirror is the first from Brooker and Black Mirror executive Annabel Jones’ new Netflix-supported production company Broke & Bones, which just started production. Since it was acquired from the UK’s Channel 4 for its third, fourth, and fifth seasons, the dystopian anthology has become one of Netflix’s most popular global successes. There’s currently no release date available, but production on Black Mirror Season 6 is expected to begin soon.
