Riverdale is returning for one last rodeo. Season 7, which premiered in 2017, will be the final season of the Archie Comics adaptation and will be available on Netflix worldwide in 2023. According to TVLine, the show will not return in 2022, but will instead premiere in 2023, most likely during the midseason premiere window. A midseason could fall between December 2022 and May 2023.
The CW’s chairman and CEO, Mark Pedowitz, stated, “we will treat the show in the manner it deserves…. We want to make certain that everything is done correctly.”
Season 7’s episode count is still unknown, but based on previous seasons, we’d guess it’ll be somewhere between 19 and 22.
So, here’s when Riverdale Season 7 will be available on Netflix:
When is Riverdale Season 7 coming to Netflix?
Riverdale is still available on Netflix as part of a legacy deal signed nearly a decade ago. Following the season’s finale, The CW’s entire output was made available on Netflix. The CW used to release a dozen new shows on Netflix each year, but that number has dropped dramatically. We won’t go into specifics, but The CW’s format will change dramatically in the coming years. Netflix has not had access to newer shows since 2019. (except All American: Homecoming).
Season 7 will not arrive in the summer, as season 6 did, due to a later start date and another long season.
All six of the previous seasons of Riverdale have been available on Netflix in most regions. That was the case for season 1, and we anticipate that season 7 will follow suit. In that case, you’ll start receiving brand-new episodes every week in early 2023. Once more, we would anticipate it to be a next-day delivery, which would mean that new episodes would debut on Netflix on Monday morning after airing on The CW on Sunday evenings.
This weekly schedule has a few exclusions. Notably, seasons begin much later in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, and Spain than in the United States. Season 7 of Riverdale won’t premiere until at least 2024.
