John Legend paid an emotional tribute in a Billboard Music Awards to her model wife Chrissy Teigen who had recently suffered a miscarriage.
The singer who sat behind the piano during Wednesday night`s show, said, “This is for Chrissy,” before he sang the ballad `Never Break` from his 2020 album `Bigger Love.`
The powerful lyrics to Legend`s song included lines like, “We will never break, built on a foundation, strong enough to stay, we will never break.”
Following the performance, BBMAs host Kelly Clarkson commended the 41-year-old singer and said, “All my love to you and Chrissy.”
Earlier this month, the 34-year-old supermodel told fans she had suffered a pregnancy loss, sharing the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post.”We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we`ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn`t enough,” Teigen posted.
Teigen, who had been expecting her third child with Legend, said they had called the baby Jack.
Teigen and Legend received alots of support from Hollywood, with friends Kim Kardashian and Gabrielle Union posting messages of support on social media.The couple has been married since 2013 and is the parent to daughter 4-year-old Luna, and 2-year-old son Miles.
