Ranking the NBA Players Who Are Most Dominant at the SG and PG Positions

All of those things and more are covered by NBA dominance.
To assemble and rank the three most dominant stars at each position in our case, we crunched the numbers as well as relied on our eyes and gut instinct.

Best SG Stars

The third-best SG position player is Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz.

The shooting guard rankings are practically congested because there are so many good-to-really-good players at the position but possibly not many great ones.
First off, in a position that is frequently defined by buckets, his tremendous scoring punch stands out.
The substance supporting the statistics, however, is Mitchell’s stronger defense.

In his five years with the Jazz, he has been the offensive focal point of a club that has never missed the postseason. He came into the league as the top scorer for Utah.
Although his defense needs to get better for him to remain one of the top three shooting guards, his development as a three-level scorer and shot creator is enough to keep him in third place for the time being.

Paul George, of the Los Angeles Clippers, is the No. 2 SG.

Perhaps this is giving George, a 32-year-old, too much slack since he just finished a rocky season marred by injuries.

First-place SG Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns

Right now, Booker is essentially unopposed for the top spot among the two guards.

He leads the pack due to his ability to score, and his quick development as a shot-maker and defense has put him far ahead of the opposition.
His output has leveled off recently, but his influence and effectiveness have increased.

PG Position Stars

No. 3 on the list of the best PGs is Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks.

Some may object that Young’s defense is too porous to merit such a prominent position, but this rating only serves to highlight how ridiculously excellent Young’s attack is.
The only other player to ever average at least 25 points and nine assists on three separate occasions is him.
The other is basketball’s king of the bloated stat sheet, Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson.
Young effectively provides his club with a top-10 offense and the ability to be the best in the league.

Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks, is PG No. 2. Doncic, according to some statistical criteria, should rank No.
The third consecutive season that Doncic, who turned 23 in February, averaged at least 27 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds.

Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry is the PG No. 1.
The Warriors have recently won their fourth world championship in the past eight years under Curry’s leadership.
