The dream team, the first professional NBA team from the United States to compete in the Olympics, started their journey to find the best basketball players in the world on July 25, 1992. In Barcelona, Spain, they won gold, making up for their agonizing bronze-medal defeat to the USSR in Seoul, Korea, in 1988. This team, which brought together the best players in the world in a meeting of two eras, is regarded as the greatest in the history of basketball since it finished the Olympic competition with an 8-0 record and an average victory margin of more than 40 points.

As the years passed, it became clear that the route to creating the one and only “Dream Team ” was not a simple one, as it involved a protracted sequence of discussions and a horrific ego fight that was about to break out before the tournament even began.
The USA Team’s two teams, the new Era of greatest players will be led by Michael Jordan and the 80s legends who had to step aside, led by Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Larry Bird, squared off in a historic training session on July 22, 1992, as an illustration of this.

The greatest NBA game of all time
The future Dream Team’s most recent exhibition game was on July 21 when it easily defeated France 111–71. However, coach Chuck Daly was not satisfied with the team’s performance and decided to match his players up in a game where their NBA rivalries could surface. The game (not the practice) was held at the Louis II stadium in the Principality of Monaco the next day. Four quarters were played, there were officials present, and just one journalist, Jack McCallum, covered the game for a book. In addition, a tape was created and made available to the media years later, when the Dream Team had already accomplished its objective. Due to an injury, Utah Jazz player John Stockton was unable to play in the game. The two squad leaders—MJ and “Magic” Johnson—were the captains.
