A casting call has already been held in search of a well-known character from the graphic novels for Heartstopper season 2. Heartstopper on Netflix was made by Alice Oseman and is based on her well-known graphic books. Nick (Kit Connor) and Charlie (Joe Locke) struggle to figure out their new relationship in both the television series and the original novels.

With the launch of the Netflix series earlier this year, the already fervent Heartstopper fandom exploded, aiding in the success of the live-action version. Heartstopper seasons 2 and 3 were swiftly announced by the streamer in a rare two-season deal. With an open casting, Heartstopper season 2 seems to be following in the footsteps of its predecessor.

Recently, Oseman said that Netflix and See-Saw Films are seeking for Sahar Zahid for Heartstopper season 2 via the show’s official Instagram account. The ad also states that this is the only role that Heartstopper season 2 will cast via an open casting call, most likely because of the enormous volume of candidates that are expected for such a well-liked series.

After being introduced as Tara, Darcy, and Elle’s school classmate, Sahar will be well-known to readers of the Heartstopper graphic novels. During a joint field trip to Paris, Sahar shows up and quickly befriends Nick, Charlie, and Tao. This could imply that Heartstopper season 2 would adhere closely to the plot of the graphic novel, similar to season 1, if Sahar’s casting is anything to go by. The casting call mentioned above suggests that Heartstopper season 2 filming will start later this year, indicating that quick progress is being made on the programme and that the following chapter in Nick and Charlie’s narrative isn’t far off.
