Chris Evans dismissed rumours of his MCU return as Captain America

Chris Evans has dispelled any rumours that he might play Captain America once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has also expressed support for Anthony Mackie, who will play the character in the upcoming fourth instalment. Following a rumour that implied doubt about Mackie’s ability to play the superhero in the movie, Evans rushed to Twitter to address the issue.

According to a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Captain America 4 is in production, Anthony Mackie will return as Sam Wilson, and the movie’s lead role has not yet been chosen. Chris took to Twitter to respond to any rumours that Evans would appear in the movie once more. He wrote, “Sam Wilson is Captain America.”

According to THR, the fourth instalment will be helmed by Nigerian-American director Julius Onah. Sam Wilson, played by Mackie, first appeared as Captain America in the MCU episode The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. After the episode, it was revealed that Mackie would also be playing the beloved superhero in the upcoming film franchise.Regarding Evans, who was most recently seen contributing his voice to Pixar’s Lightyear, the actor has been Captain America since the 2011 release of Captain America: The First Avenger, the first Marvel superhero film.
