Bodkin, a new series from Higher Ground Productions, has received Netflix’s approval as a go. Here is what we currently know about Netflix’s Bodkin series, which has now had some of its cast members revealed.
Bodkin (wt), a darkly humorous thriller written and directed by Jez Scharf (Mister Biscuits, The UnDream), follows a ragtag group of podcasters as they embark on an investigation into the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a picturesque seaside Irish village.

Who is behind the Netflix series Bodkin?

Along with Alex Metcalf, Jez Scharf will serve as the show’s co-showrunner and chief writer. Perhaps Scharf’s scripting on short films like Mister Biscuits and The Undream is what makes him most well-known.
Metcalf has worked on a number of well-known projects, working as executive producer on HBO’s Sharp Objects and The Loudest Voice, among others. Additionally, he worked on Kingdom as a co-producer, which was licenced for a specific amount of time before being released globally on Netflix (it was licenced until May 2021.)

Executive producer Tonia Davis from Higher Ground Productions worked on the upcoming Rustin movie as well as We The People, Waffles + Mochi, and other Netflix originals.
As previously announced, the project is being worked on by Obama’s production company, Higher Ground Productions. Although they have a number of planned projects, this will be their first significant drama series for Netflix. The project also has Wild Atlantic Pictures and Wiip connected as production companies.

Who is the cast of Netflix’s Bodkin series?

Will Forte (MacGruber and The Last Man on Earth) will play Gilbert Power, who is described as a “American podcaster on the hunt for his next big story.” Gilbert’s family emigrated from Cork and he hopes to trace his ancestors back to Ireland.”
As the series begins, Siobhan Cullen (best known for The Dry) is in a professional crisis. “A hard-nosed investigative journalist with a fine-tuned bullshit detector and a healthy disdain for authority and hypocrisy,” her character is described.
Robyn Cara (best known for her role as Kayla in Ackley Bridge) will play Emmy, the researcher on Gilbert’s podcast project in charge of ensuring everything runs smoothly. Emmy, on the other hand, is struggling to find her own voice.

David Wilmot will play Seamus Gallagher, a character who can turn on the charm when it suits his needs but can just as quickly erupt into violent outbursts when he feels threatened. Wilmot is best known for his roles in Anna Karenina and the upcoming HBO Max series Lies We Tell.
Sean O’Shea, who is characterised as a native of the village of Bodkin and a typical Irish country lad, is played by Chris Walley, who is best known for The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Additionally, he is involved in some fairly questionable enterprises.

Where in the production is Bodkin?

The project is scheduled to begin on June 27 and shoot in both Dublin and West Cork, Ireland, according to numerous production listings viewed by What’s on Netflix. For those who don’t know, West Cork is a distant region of Ireland that is frequently referred to as one of the final strongholds of “old Ireland.”
An open casting call for the play was held on June 14th, according to Southern Star in Ireland. For the seven-part modern drama, they also mention that some of the filming will occur at Union Hall and possibly Glandore.
The remainder of the summer is expected to be devoted to production, which is expected to end between September and November 2022.
