One of the numerous top-notch K-Dramas that Netflix released in 2021 and that proved to be popular with customers is Hellbound. Will Hellbound receive a renewal after Squid Game and Sweet Home? We’ll keep you updated on all you need to know about Hellbound’s second season even if Netflix hasn’t decided what will happen to the Korean drama. Here is what we know about it six months after it was released.
An adaptation of the well-known South Korean webtoon Hell, Hellbound is a South Korean Netflix Original horror series written and directed by Yeon Sang-Ho. Only second to the global blockbuster Squid Game, the series is already one of the largest K-Drama releases on Netflix in 2021. The programme has a 97 percent RottenTomatoes approval rating and has won multiple accolades.

Renewal Status of Hellbound Season 2 on Netflix

Netflix has yet to decide the fate of Hellbound six months after its initial release. The show was released just a few months after Squid Game and quickly surpassed it in the top ten.
The show was watched for 43,480,000 hours by subscribers worldwide in its first week, propelling the drama to the top of the global TV Non-English chart.
The show remained on the Non-English TV list for four weeks, accumulating 142.85 million hours in total. In terms of raw top tens, the show made the top ten lists of 90 different countries. Hellbound has reached number one in many countries, and it has also appeared in the top three in many others.

What can we expect from Hellbound’s second season?

The ashes and bones of Park Jung Ja came together at the end of the first season and brought about the woman’s resurrection, which was a startling revelation that will permanently alter the course of history.
The baby of Song So Hyun, despite being handed a decree, lived when his parents gave themselves up to save their newborn son, shattering the concept of the New Truth in the eyes of numerous eyewitnesses.
When the decree victims start to come back to life like Park Jung Ja, more concerns will be raised about the New Truth. But would Jung Jin Soo use his newly discovered resurrection to propagate a new gospel if this meant that we would witness his resurrection as the former chairman of New Truth?

As the world tries to make sense of “God’s” activities, the New Truth and Arrowhead are likely to cause a complete breakdown in society by persuading the populace that everyone who received decrees is a sinner.

When can we expect Hellbound season 2 to be released on Netflix?

When the series is renewed will greatly influence when season 2 of Hellbound will be released. Given the first season’s production, we can make an educated guess as to when Hellbound season 2 would be available on Netflix.
Hellbound’s filming lasted from September 17th, 2020, to January 18th, 2021. Therefore, it took slightly over 14 months from the commencement of filming to the Netflix release date. Thus, if we use a rough estimate of fourteen months, Hellbound season 2 won’t be available on Netflix until no earlier than 2023.
A late Summer 2023 release date is possible if renewal occurs and filming starts in the spring of 2022.
