The third season of The Boys, which returned to Prime Video on June 3 in explosive and brutal fashion, is currently airing. The show has killed off and introduced a number of characters over the course of its four most recent episodes, with Season 3’s Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, playing a significant part.

As The Legend, a well-known figure from the original comic book on which the series is based, Paul Reiser will now be joining the cast of the famous dark superhero series, Prime Video has revealed. The fifth episode of Season 3 titled “The Last Time To Look On This World Of Lies,” which debuts on Prime Video this Friday, will feature Reiser’s debut as The Legend.

In the original comic book series, The Legend is an elderly man who manages a comic shop and is a satire of the late-great Marvel creator and legend, Stan Lee. The character’s precise role in the upcoming episode is uncertain, but given his extensive knowledge of all things Superman, he might end up being a very useful tool.

Reiser was voted #77 on Comedy Central’s list of “The 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time” and is most known for playing the legendary Paul Buchman in NBC’s Mad About You. His most recent nomination was for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for his work in Season 3 of Netflix’s Golden Globe-winning series The Kominsky Method. He has been nominated for four Golden Globes and eleven Emmys.

Reiser is a part of The Boys season 3’s large ensemble of guest stars, which also includes Laurie Holden, Miles Gaston Villanueva, Nick Wechsler, Sean Patrick Flannery, Kristin Booth, Jack Doolan, Katia Winter, and Frances Turner. Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and the aforementioned Ackles are among the cast members of the next season.
