Netflix informed fans of the news via a note from Hwang Dong-hyuk, the writer, director, producer, and creator of Squid Game.
The show’s first season was released last year to critical praise and widespread popularity among viewers. The sequel had been in the works, and Netflix executives as well as the show’s writer, director, and executive producerthe primary actors had teased a return after the first installment’s overwhelming popularity.
Season 2 has been given the go-ahead. Cheol-su confirmed the upcoming chapter in a message to fans, revealing who might return for it and what new character will join the programme. Hwang Dong-hyuk also spoke about the series’ journey to the screen and its enormous success. Squid Game is a film about cash-strapped people competing in children’s games for the chance to win a great sum of money, but the losers have no choice but to die. The show was once the most-watched Netflix series on the planet. During an interview with Korean network KBS in December of last year, Hwang said that not only had he finalised the narrative for the second season, but that he was also in talks with Netflix for a third season. Hwang also discussed the storyline for Season 2 in the same interview.
