Jurassic World Dominion, produced by Universal/Amblin Entertainment, has raked in an estimated $386 million globally through Sunday. It added 57 new markets in its second offshore frame, having releasing early in 15 the previous session. Including the new hubs and holdovers, the foreign box office total through Friday is $135 million. It’s expected to land a full abroad weekend of $175 million through Sunday, bringing the overall offshore total to $244 million.

Jurassic World (2015) debuted to $226 million ($187 million excluding previews) in the same set of new overseas countries this session, while Fallen Kingdom (2018) opened to $227 million ($212 million excluding previews).
Despite the fact that JWD is performing less well than other films, it is outperforming pre-weekend expectations, particularly in China, where it is on course to gross more than $50 million by tomorrow. The Colin Trevorrow-directed threequel will now be the No. 1 Hollywood release of 2022, surpassing Universal’s own The Bad Guys.

In China, around 80% of theatres are open at the moment; however, all of Shanghai and parts of Beijing remain closed. The critical and social scores are lower than the previous films (8.1 for Maoyan and 6.5 for Douban), but the market for huge action tentpoles has been depleted. Friday’s opening day ($14.9 million/99.8 million RMB) was by far the greatest for an imported title in 2022, and the third most since the pandemic began. Saturday grossed an estimated $21.2 million (142 million RMB), making it the greatest single-day grossing foreign film of the year. It’s also the first time a film has made more than 100 million RMB in a single day since the Chinese New Year vacations on February 14.

The UK debuted at No. 1 with $4.5 million on Friday, the franchise’s second highest-grossing Friday, trailing only Jurassic World by 10%. IMAX and other PLF formats, as well as generally sold-out evening shows, benefited the performance significantly. The weekend forecast is $16.5 million.
France, which debuted on Wednesday, is on track for a $9.4 million weekend after having the best opening day in 2022.
Australia is aiming for a $8 million premiere, which would be Universal’s third largest ever, and Germany’s debut is expected to be $7.6 million.
Friday’s $1.3 million on 2,749 screens in India was the franchise’s second-best opening, the second-best Hollywood launch of 2022, and the fourth-best of the pandemic.

Spain had the second-best start of the year, with $1.3 million, and the third-largest opening Friday of the pandemic. To now, the total has been $2.2 million.
Malaysia has grossed $2.6 million through Friday, the Netherlands has $2.2 million, and Indonesia has $2.1 million. Taiwan debuted with $700,000 on Friday, displacing holdover Top Gun and securing the greatest opening day of 2022 — ahead of Doctor Strange 2.
Mexico has grossed $24.7 million through Friday, surpassing both previous Jurassic films at the same stage in release. On Friday, Korea’s total grossed $19.4 million, while Brazil’s total grossed $6.2 million.
