The first-ever Capcom Showcase is coming up next week, and it looks like it’ll be jam-packed with Resident Evil news. Last week, Capcom offered us a first glimpse at their Resident Evil 4 remake, and they’re promising a new look at the game at their showcase. It’s unclear whether this means another trailer or genuine prolonged gameplay. The Capcom Showcase will last approximately 35 minutes, but we don’t know how many games the studio intends to fit into that time frame.

That’s not all the Resident Evil content we’ll be seeing next week! Capcom has promised enhanced “next-gen” versions of their Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, as well as Resident Evil 7, and PS5 versions of all three games have been added to PlayStation Network servers, according to Twitter account PlayStation Game Size. This suggests that these upgrades will be fully revealed, if not launched, at or around Capcom Showcase.

This is what CapCom had to say about the remake:-This time, the game is being built to achieve cutting-edge quality for a survival horror game suited for 2023 while maintaining the original game’s core. We wanted to make the game seem familiar to series fans while also giving it a fresh feel. This is accomplished by reinventing the game’s storyline while maintaining the game’s overall direction, upgrading the graphics, and bringing the controls up to date.

The biological tragedy in Racoon City occurred six years ago. One of the survivors of the tragedy, Leon S. Kennedy, has been hired as an agent who will report directly to the president. Leon is dispatched to recover the president’s stolen daughter, armed with the experience of multiple missions behind him. He follows her to a remote European town where the people are suffering from a mysterious illness. And with that, the curtain lifts on this harrowing tale of survival horror and rescue.

On March 24, 2023, the Resident Evil 4 remake will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. This coming Monday, the Capcom Showcase will be webcast live (June 13).For those who were there for the original, a recreation of Resident Evil 4 does nothing to reduce its ubiquitous force. And if Capcom can properly manage this project, learning from the underwhelming Resident Evil 3 Remake while pushing forward the innovations found in the reimagining of Resident Evil 2, the existence of RE4 for new-gen platforms will only serve to cement the publisher’s resurgent dominance in the survival-horror genre.
