Stranger Things Season 4: Part 1 premiered a few weeks ago, and although fans are still reeling, the season’s second instalment will arrive in a month. The fourth season’s final two episodes will premiere on July 1, and showrunners have teased what fans might expect. The Duffer Brothers were asked if fans will see any major character deaths in a recent interview with Variety.
The series’ creators, Matt and Ross Duffer discussed how the fourth season has turned darker, as well as how some major characters may not be safe in the highly anticipated finale. The brothers answered, “I don’t really want to say, but I would be concerned about the characters going into Volume 2, for sure. I hope that that is sort of the sense because it is a darker season and the kids are no longer kids. So everybody is in danger. And there’s sort of an ominous feeling that things might not go well. Now, whether they do or not, you’ll have to watch.”
Stranger Things has previously witnessed a number of important character deaths, including the death of the cop, Jim Hopper in the Season 3 finale, although the character was thankfully returned. Characters like cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham, Hawkins High reporter Fred Benson, and basketball star Patrick McKinney died in the first volume of the fourth season. Despite the fact that all of the key characters survived Part 1, the showrunners have teased that the second volume may contain some major twists.
Members of the main cast of Stranger Things Season 4 stars Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke. Campbell Bower, who plays the current villain Vecna, was a significant new addition to the zany universe. With multiple narratives to manage, the Duffer Brothers switched their attention away from Ryder, Heaton, and Schnapp’s portrayal of the Byers family.
Matt and Ross Duffer responded to a discovered narrative hole saying that the team forgot Will Byers’ birthday while chatting with Variety. A timestamp on a recording camera in a roller rink scene with Will, Eleven, and Mike reads March 22, 1986 in episode 2 of season 4. The day has become synonymous with Will Byers’ birthday, making an already unpleasant situation much more terrible. Viewers wondered if the lack of mention of the characters’ birthdays throughout the season was an inadvertent disrespect.
