Thousands of people gather in central London for a pageant

A massive pageant celebrating the final day of the Jubilee is underway in London, as thousands of people gather for street parties across the country.

The star-studded carnival will parade towards Buckingham Palace, complete with vintage cars, puppets, and Daleks.

The show will culminate with 200 well-known faces singing God Save The Queen with Ed Sheeran.

Meanwhile, 10 million people across the UK have held Big Jubilee Lunches, picnics, and barbecues.

Saturday night saw affectionate tributes from the Prince of Wales and national figures during the evening’s Platinum Party at the Palace.
The Queen, who has been suffering from mobility issues in recent months, was unable to attend the event.

But she began the event with a pre-recorded comedy sketch in which she shared a cup of tea with Paddington Bear and confessed to carrying a marmalade sandwich.

Charles and Camilla began the final day of the Queen’s 70-year reign celebrations by meeting guests at a street party in south London.

Before meeting participants, they inspected tables festooned with union flag bunting and laden with cakes.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have tweeted pictures of Kate and their three children baking cakes in a kitchen decorated with Union Jack bunting.
