“Why Her?” premiered on SBS on June 3 at the top of its time slot. Oh Soo Jae, a cold-hearted lawyer who has grown empty after solely seeking success, is played by Seo Hyun Jin, and Gong Chan, a law student who would do anything to protect her after her rapid fall from grace, is played by Hwang In Yeop.
The first episode of “Why Her?” received an average nationwide rating of 6.0 percent, making it the most-watched Friday-Saturday drama of the night, according to Nielsen Korea. Furthermore, “Why Her?” launched to significantly higher ratings than its predecessor, the drama “Again My Life,” which had previously filled the time slot (which premiered to a nationwide average of 5.8 percent).
“Why Her?” was also the evening’s most-watched Friday-Saturday drama among the important demographic of viewers aged 20 to 49, with a 2.6 percent average rating.
“Why Her?” is a new mystery romance drama starring Seo Hyun Jin as Oh Soo Jae, a coldhearted lawyer who has grown empty after only pursuing achievement, and Hwang In Yeop as Gong Chan, a law student who would do anything to protect her.

In the images, Oh Soo Jae is seen looking at Gong Chan with a furious expression on his face, as Gong Chan grips Oh Soo Jae’s wrist forcefully. Gong Chan glances at Oh Soo Jae with sympathetic compassion, as if sensing the complex feelings underneath his wrath. Viewers are intrigued by their deep eye contact and want to understand more about their relationship.
Doctor Lawyer is about Han Yi-Han (So Ji-sub), an excellent surgeon who graduated from one of South Korea’s premier medical schools. His life is changed by a single procedure. During the procedure, he believes he did his finest work, but the patient died, and he loses his medical licence.
Meanwhile, MBC’s new drama “Doctor Lawyer” launched to a 5.2 percent average nationwide rating, airing in the same time slot as “Why Her?” So Ji Sub portrays Han Yi Han, a brilliant surgeon who becomes a medical malpractice lawyer after losing everything due to a rigged surgery, and Im Soo Hyang portrays Geum Seok Young, a dedicated prosecutor who joins him in his quest for justice.
