Gay Twilight Is The Title Of A New Netflix Vampire Show

Before its release next month, a new Netflix series following a forbidden lesbian love tale between a vampire and a monster hunter has been called the “gay Twilight.”
Juliette, played by Sarah Catherine Hook, comes from a long line of respected vampires and falls for vampire hunter Calliope, played by Imani Lewis, in the film First Kill, which will be released on June 10th.
“Gay Twilight fans….First Kill is for us,” one Twitter user wrote in response to a recent promo for the series, which showed Hook and Lewis kissing in bed.
“Imagine if we had First Kill instead of Twilight back then… my gay little heart would’ve exploded,” another tweeted.

The series follows socially awkward introvert Juliette at her high school as she grapples with the knowledge that she is a vampire, according to Netflix’s online description. She’s having trouble controlling her urges, and it’s becoming more difficult for her to hide her superhuman behaviour at school. Meanwhile, Calliope, the ‘dreamy’ new student, has a secret of her own.
Her parents believe she’s now ready to kill her first vampire because she was born into a family of monster hunters.
The couple can be seen kissing in bed, running across town, and discussing their obligations with their families in a trailer for the series.

Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite, a compilation of blood-sucking tales published in 2020, had First Kill as a short piece.
“Falling in love is tough for youngsters Juliette and Calliope: one is a vampire, the other is a vampire hunter — and both are preparing to make their first kill,” according to the show’s Netflix synopsis.
“Who among us hasn’t been in the trenches of high school, trying to navigate sweaty and overcrowded parties, changing friendship dynamics, a debilitatingly awkward first crush, and a familial duty to kill said crush?” the streaming giant continued in a story that accompanied the show’s first-look photos.

Sarah Catherine has previously starred in a number of fascinating television and film productions throughout her career. Before appearing in American Crime Story in 2021, the Montgomery adolescent starred in The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
Imani is most recognised for her roles in the films Eighth Grade (2018), Hightown (2020), and The Equalizer. Elizabeth Mitchell, who previously appeared in Lost, and Jason R. Moore, who participated in the 2017 series The Punisher, also star in the show.

Netflix will be hoping that the series follows in the footsteps of the successful Twilight series, with its sensual scenes, forbidden love, and vampire-theme.
Stephanie Meyer released Twilight in 2005, followed by New Moon (2006), Eclipse (2007), and Breaking Dawn (2008), which have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
From 2008 through 2012, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Anna Kendrick starred in five films based on the books (Breaking Dawn was broken into two parts).
The film adaptations grossed an incredible $3.3 billion in box office receipts.
