Thor: Love and Thunder has released a new trailer that provides Marvel fans their first look at Gorr the God Butcher, who is played by Oscar winner Christian Bale.Gorr is seen in the Thor 4 trailer as a villain with ashy grey skin, a scarred visage, and white robes. Perhaps the gods mocked the character’s monochrome appearance when he was a youngster, because he’s now known as the God Butcher, which is terrible news for the MCU’s favourite god, Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth).
Gorr the God Butcher is a relatively recent addition to the Thor comics, but has made an impact in his first decade. Selecting Bale as the character continues the tradition of casting Oscar-winning actors to play Thor bad guys, following Cate Blanchett’s turn in Ragnarok.Gorr is driven by a dark existential dilemma in the comics, but because existential bleakness isn’t exactly a box-office draw, it’s unclear how much of this will make it into the film. How can we trust in a greater power when there is so much suffering in the world, is the query in Gorr’s mind.Gorr comes from a planet on the brink of starvation, where he sees his family, wife and all but one of his children die of hunger and/or earthquakes.
Even the most steadfast believer may be tempted to doubt their faith in light of Gorr’s suffering. The gods in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, on the other hand, are not only real, but also occasionally walk among mortals. comes discovers two gods battling, and one of their weapons transforms into”an amorphous mass of living darkness,” as the Marvel Wiki puts it. This darkness binds to Gorr, transforming him into All-Black the Necrosword, a very metal-sounding name. With this sword, he swears vengeance on the gods who abandoned him and promises to slay them all.
Naturally, this places him in the way of everyone’s Asgardian. The movie’s tagline, according to IMDB, is: “Thor enlists the support of Valkyrie, Korg, and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster to combat Gorr the God Butcher, who aims to extinguish the gods.” Another of those gods, played by Russell Crowe, is Zeus, as seen in the Thor: Love and Thunder teaser.”It’s a terrific, really fun, odd little collection of heroes, a new squad for Thor with Korg, Valkyrie, and The Mighty Thor,” director Taika Waititi said of the film in an Associated Press interview. And, in my humble opinion, we have the best villain Marvel has ever produced in Christian Bale .He added in an Entertainment Weekly interview that the character is “very layered.”
