Spider-Man: No Way Home was the first film in the pandemic to gross $1 billion worldwide. Despite the fact that the film has been available for purchase online for months, it is still not available for streaming on a subscription service.

It also won’t be on one of the first services that comes to mind. Even though actor Tom Holland’s Spider-Man features frequently in Disney’s Marvel films, the current Spider-Man film isn’t coming to Disney Plus anytime soon. Sony’s movies will be available on Netflix beginning this year and continuing into the future, but No Way Home was released in theatres too soon to be available on Netflix. And HBO Max gained a reputation for streaming new movies after it made all Warner Bros. films available to stream the same day they were released in theatres last year. However, HBO Max does not and will not be streaming Spider-Man: No Way Home.

No Way Home is distributed by Sony Pictures, and thanks to a contract with Starz, Now Way Home will soon be available on the network.

When and where can fans watch Spider-Man: No Way Home?

No Way Home will premiere on Starz on July 15.
Sony has an agreement in place for its 2021 films to first air on the premium cable network Starz, where they will be available to watch on both its traditional channels and its streaming app. As a result, Starz will be the first place you can watch it.

Is Spider-Man: No Way Home ever going to be available on Disney Plus?

It’s feasible, but it won’t be available on Disney Plus anytime soon unless Disney and Sony reach a new deal.
Spider-Man is a Marvel character, but Disney’s Marvel has a complicated license-sharing agreement with Sony for the Spider-Man characters on film. In essence, Sony is in control of producing and releasing solo Spider-Man universe films, and Disney’s Marvel can “borrow” the characters for films in its own Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is why Tom Holland’s Spider-Man appears in the Avengers films.

That’s also why you can see some movies starring Holland as Spider-Man on Disney Plus, but not any Spider-Man-specific flicks. The similar arrangement applies to the Venom films and the Morbius picture, both of which will be released this year. Those are Marvel characters, but the films are Sony-distributed, so they won’t be appearing on Disney Plus anytime soon. You may have read some news regarding Spider-Man movies coming to Disney Plus as a result of a new agreement reached last year. That is correct, but the deal may not apply to No Way Home.

In April, Disney announced a partnership with Sony to stream several classic Spider-Man films as well as Sony films released in theatres between 2022 and 2026. To begin with, those 2022-2026 theatrical films will not be available on Disney Plus for many months; they will initially be available on Netflix. However, because No Way Home’s theatrical release date is in 2021, that component of the arrangement does not apply to it. Second, neither Sony nor Disney has confirmed when – or even if – No Way Home will be designated a “catalogue” film that will be available on Disney Plus.
