The Orville’s highly anticipated third season is arriving after a three-year hiatus. After two seasons on Fox, this sci-fi comedy-drama has found a new home on Hulu. Seth MacFarlane developed, wrote, directed, executive produced, and starred in the space comedy-drama The Orville, which was a passion project and a tremendous undertaking for him. There are currently no plans for a fourth season as the series prepares for the June 2 premiere of Season 3 on Hulu.
In addition to finishing Season 3 of The Orville, titled New Horizons, MacFarlane has been focusing on his development as part of his multi-billion dollar overall deal with NBCUniversal, which includes the upcoming Peacock series Ted, which is based on MacFarlane’s movie franchise and will feature him reprising his voice role as the title character. Ted has officially cast Scott Grimes, who previously appeared on The Orville, as a series regular, reuniting him with MacFarlane.

For The Orville: New Horizons, Seth MacFarlane takes the helm. He also stars as Captain Ed Mercer, in addition to being the show’s creator. MacFarlane’s most well-known characters are from his work as a voice actor on Family Guy, where he portrays Peter, Brian, and Stewie, as well as the foul-mouthed teddy bear Ted from the two films. A Million Ways to Die in the West, Logan Lucky, and The Loudest Voice are just a few of MacFarlane’s live-action credits.
The Orville: New Horizons is a Hulu exclusive, which means you’ll need a Hulu subscription to watch it.
