Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead attend the premiere of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The much-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series has finally been published, and the first two episodes were streamed live during the red carpet presentation in Anaheim, California on Thursday, May 26. Ewan McGregor, the show’s principal actor, received support from his new wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead, whom he secretly married last month, during the premiere event.

The couple’s first red carpet appearance together since their wedding was at the premiere event. The couple looked stunning in black outfits, which they color-coordinated. Also attending the event were Ewan’s co-stars Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Rupert Friend, Indira Varma, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Simone Kessell, as well as director/executive producer Deborah Chow and executive producer Joby Harold.

McGregor has reprised his role as Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi in the series, and the actor recently spoke with Capital FM about his Star Wars character’s following, including the legendary phrase that fans often want him to repeat to them. McGregor reacted on his character’s catchphrase, “Hello there!” which has become a big meme on the internet. After 17 years, the actor reprises his role as the Jedi Master. Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader in the series. McGregor last appeared in the Star Wars film Revenge of the Sith, which was released in 2005.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a unique assignment for McGregor, who is reprising his role as the Jedi master after his last appearance in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. The new programme picks up 10 years after Obi-Wan Kenobi’s greatest loss in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, when his Jedi disciple, Anakin Skywalker, went to the dark side and became the Sith Lord Darth Vader. New episodes of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be released monthly, with the finale set for June 22. Other Star Wars shows, such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, have already been seen by fans. In terms of upcoming Star Wars programmes, there’s also Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson, which is set to premiere in 2023.
