Thor: Love and Thunder new poster: Gorr the God Butcher, makes a terrifying presence behind the heroes

Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale, makes a terrifying entrance in the new Thor: Love & Thunder poster. The new poster is a well-deserved payback for the teaser posters that were previously provided. On a rock surrounded by waterfalls, the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) and The Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman) are dressed in costume. Behind our two main characters are Korg (Taika Waititi) and King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), the latter riding their distinctive Pegasus.

A great touch is the Viking ship being dragged by two flying goats behind our ragtag team of gods. The actual star of the poster, though, is lurking in the backdrop. Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), the film’s villain, is seen grinning while his piercing eyes take over the sunset. Gorr made his terrifying presence known in the trailer, and he continues to do so in the film.

The artwork pops because of the rich colour scheme, similar to Ragnarok before it. The oranges, purples, and blues make this an epic yet pleasant work of art to look at, even though Gorr is peering into our souls. The hues also convey euphoric sentiments from the upcoming story, which seems appropriate given that the trailer and title emphasise the film’s subject of ‘love.’

Thor will embark on a journey of self-discovery in the soon-to-be-released picture, and when we first see him, he will be retired. The hero would have had plenty of time to reflect on his past, particularly his love for Jane, whom he hadn’t seen in nearly a decade. Gorr, played by Bale, is a widely anticipated villain, and both the trailer and poster above capture the terrible villain’s appearance and manner. The character’s ominous yellow glare is enough to send shivers down any god’s spine, and his imposing presence in the image flirts with horror aspects. As Thor: Love & Thunder approaches its July release date, expect to hear a lot more about Gorr now that he’s been unveiled.

Gorr looks down on Hemsworth and Portman’s powerful personas with pointed teeth and blazing yellow eyes. Valkyrie is also seen riding Aragorn, her white Pegasus, while Korg stands tall behind the key protagonists on the poster. Marvel also just released a new trailer for Thor: Love & Thunder, which featured Bale as Gorr for the first time.

Gorr emerges on screen during the trailer, looking scary and stating his ambitions to destroy every god that has ever existed. Crowe’s Zeus addresses a multitude in Olympus in the jam-packed trailer, which also got a first glimpse at another Thor newcomer. In other words, Marvel is beginning to reveal more about Thor: Love & Thunder, albeit many details remain unknown.
