Twitter reports that, ?President Donald Trump?s tweet has violated the Twitter Rules about spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to Covid-19.?
?We placed a public interest notice (President Trump?s) Tweet for violating our COVID-19 Misleading Information Policy by making misleading health claims about COVID-19.?a Twitter spokesperson said.?As is standard with this public interest notice, engagements with the Tweet will be significantly limited.?
The president posted the same message on his Facebook account. But hasn?t yet raised any complain against The President on grounds of Policy Violation. CNN Business approached Face Book for comments.
Jason Shepherd, a scientist funded by Mark Zuckerberg?s philanthropic organization, told CNN Sunday that Facebook should? absolutely? take action on the Presidents post.?Facebook simply needs to do better with misinformation. Especially COVID related where it can literally be life or death. They?re too slow and I haven?t seen any real change in policy series since we sent our letter of concern to Mark,? said Shepherd, an associate professor of neurobiology and biochemistry at the University of Utah. Shepherd and other scientists receiving funds from Chan Zuckerberg initiative also sent a letter in June, in regards to Facebook handling The President?s posts.
Last week on Tuesday, Twitter had deleted a post from the Presidents account after his false averment on COVID-19 being less dangerous than seasonal flu. Twitter also languished Trump?s post about voting. Twitter in Thursday announced, about re-regularization of it policies to combat voting related misnomers.
