Marvel’s new upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder are based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The film, which is a sequel to Thor Ragnarok and the fourth instalment in the Thor saga, will be released on July 8, 2022. According to director Taika Waititi, the film will integrate sections from Jason Aaron’s run on The Mighty Thor comic book, which was revealed in July 2019. This will be Chris Hemsworth’s fourth solo Thor adventure and might be the last as he is planning to pass his position to his long time girlfriend, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman).

Recently, it has been speculated that Thor: Loove and Thunder might cross its path with the Marvel Studios Moon Knight because the series also features Egyptian Gods and Love And Thunder is slated to debut Gorr: The God Butcher, fans have been wondering if they would all meet in the film. Moon Knight, the most recent entry in the MCU, brought the Egyptian gods to the franchise, the most renowned of whom being Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. Moon Knight writer Beau DeMayo spoke with The Direct’s Russ Milheim in an exclusive interview about the likelihood of a Thor: Love and Thunder connection appearing in the series’ last two episodes. After all, the project’s adversary is a God-killing machine—could Christian Bale’s character Gorr face off against Moon Knight Egyptian God, Khonshu? Given that DeMayo appears to not know a series connection, viewers should not expect anything to emerge until the show’s conclusion. At the very least, a post-credits scene may tease Gorr’s appearance.

However, with Moon Knight releasing just a few months before Thor: Love and Thunder, there appears to be a chance for a crossover. Currently, the possibility of the meetup between the two Marvel character remains unclear. Figures like Khonshu, on the other hand, connect the Moon Knight stories to the cosmic side of the MCU, which is represented by the Thor franchise and the Eternals. Given that voice acting work from F. Murray Abraham and Antonia Salib respectively bring Khonshu and another Egyptian god from the series, Taweret, to life, Marvel Studios could easily insert the characters introduced in Moon Knight into a sequence of Thor: Love and Thunder to connect the two.
