Lakers Win Record Tying 17TH NBA Title, Giving LeBron James His 4TH Championship

Defeating the Miami Heat at a score of 106-93, the Los Angeles Lakers won the 6th NBA championship on Sunday night ; concluding with an achievement of winning the best of the 7 series 4 games to 2.

This is the 17th time; the Lakers and the Boston Celtics gain fame as a couple in the history of NBA. A decade ago Late Kobe Bryant had trailed the team to the final and also won his fifth and final NBA title. Kobe Bryant died with his daughter Gianna along with 7 other people in a copter crash on January 26 this year.

In the 10 NBA finals LeBron James made it ; this was his 4th championship. In addition to the recent achievements he also possesses 2 titles with the Heat (2012 and 2013) and the Cleveland Cavaliers (2016). Being a constant scorer; this Sunday James was the all-time leader in playoff games, at 260. Scoring a triple dose of 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, he led the team to victory.

In the history of NBA, James is the first player to achieve the title NBA Final MVP with three different teams competing with Michael Jordan who own is in double numbers.

?For me to be a part of such a historical franchise is an unbelievable feeling, not only for myself but for my teammates, for the organization, for the coaches. For the trainers, everybody that?s here.? James said on the court.? We just want our respect (Lakers Vice president of basketball operations and general manager) Rob(Pelinka) wants his respect. (Lakers head) coach (Frank) Vogel  wants his respect. Our organization wants their respect. Lake Nation wants their respect.  And I want my damn respect too.?

 The season wrapped up outside of Orlando, Florida- Amidst the widespread protests over racial injustice procuring across the US during the Pandemic and with a combative presidential election few weeks ahead; James is listed amongst the most influential sports man achieving success despite the social injustice havoc around.

Pandemic Halts NBA Season In March After Bobert?s Test’s Positive

On March 11th, Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz tested positive for COVID-19, which led to rescheduling of the night?s game between the Jazz and the Thunder in Oklahoma City; creating an intimidating atmosphere amongst the players.

Expecting the finale to begin in June, the League later announced that the season would resume at the end of July at the Walt Disney World Resort, in an isolated campus to practice and host the finals and also provide residency for 22 members of the league?s 30 teams to zero down on the players to read playoffs.

Despite the denouncing situation of the pandemic, the players portrayed their support in racial injustice.?Black Lives Matter? were painted on the courts in during this season; where several coaches and referees with deference and joined the players during their National Anthem once the game resumed.

Bucks Take A Stand, Leading To Gemas Called Off Across Us Sports.

 On the 23rd of August,  Jacob Blake, a black man was shot by a cop seven times in the back as he tied to enter Kenosha Wisconsin; prompting an outrage across the nation over racial injustice and police brutality.

No sooner on August 26th, NBA again faced a halt in the US when, the Milwaukee Bucks decided not to participate in their playoff against the Orlando Magic. This created a spurt as the athletes supported the Bucks? players in unity.

Along with playoff of the NBA, games in the WNBA, Major league Baseball and Major League Soccer were also postponed. Ace tennis player Naomi Osaka disclosed on social media that she will not be playing the Semifinals of the Western and Southern Open post the US-Open on the same day.

?We know that being here has given us the strength and numbers? That?s a byproduct of us being here, of being able to use this platform to be able to talk about everything that?s going on outside the court.? James said on Thursday.

?All the social injustice and the voter suppression and so many other things that are just going on. The police Brutality and so on and so on and so on. Us being here and having the opportunity to talk about these issues and continuing to understand that this world is not just basketball. Even though we live  in a small piece of the game of basketball, there are so many bigger things and so many greater things going on. If you can make an impact or you can make a change or you can have a vision, it just helps out so much, not only in your community but all over the world.?

Next Season’s Start Date Not Yet Known

Eventually, the NBA finals with the Lakers came to a crescendo; resuming the match on the 29th August 2020. 

After scoring the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs, Maimi knocked out the victorious Bucks, in the second round. The Heat beat the Celtics to reach the finals.

Even in the absence of Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo, the Heat made it way to triumph with Jimmy Butler as the leader;  scoring a 76ers from the Philadelphia  as a part of the 4 team trade on July6th 2019.In the history of NBA Finals, Butler was the first player to score 35-point triple-doubles in 1 series, scoring 40 points in game 3 and game 5.

Even though, Adebayo and Dragic were back in the Game 6, the team still looked frail in their scores with Butler scoring 12 points and Adebayo leading with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, this Sunday.

With the unpredictability prevailing; league commissioner Adam Silver is uncertain about the dates for next season of NBA.
