Pemex, Mexico’s state-owned oil corporation, announced on Saturday that a fire at its Salina Cruz refinery in southern Oaxaca state had been put out with no casualties to workers.

The fire, which began on Friday, had overtaken a gasoline storage tank, sending a dense cloud of black smoke rising from the refinery’s interior.

Firefighters have “completed the task of suffocation and cooling” of the tank, according to Pemex.

Another fire broke out at the Salina Cruz facility in August.

According to Eikon Refinitiv data, Salina Cruz has the capacity to process 330,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

Another fire broke out at a Pemex refinery complex in northern Mexico in November, but it was quickly extinguished with no casualties to employees or production impact.
