On Saturday night, JORGE MASVIDAL and Colby Covington, who were once best friends, clashed.
Prior to Saturday’s fight, Covington accused Masvidal of ‘deleting’ his ex-wife Maritza Collado and labeled him a ‘deadbeat dad.’
Maritza Masvidal, Jorge Masvidal’s estranged wife, was drawn into the dispute after Colby posted a photo of her on Instagram.
Despite Jorge’s claims that he did it years ago, she allegedly let Colby live on her couch.
Jorge, according to Covington, does not want others to know about Maritza Collado, who has the surname Collado. Despite the fact that Maritza is the mother of his children, Colby accused the MMA fighter of cheating on her while they were together.
Both Covington and Masvidal have been welterweight title challengers twice. Jorge Masvidal is accused of violence after an alleged altercation with Colby Covington in Miami.
Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal, both of the UFC, were embroiled in a brawl outside of a Miami Beach steakhouse on Monday night.
After charging at Covington, Masvidal was seen being pulled back and can be heard screaming, “Don’t talk about my kids,” at Covington. Later, Covington was seen surrounded by cops.
Masvidal has now tweeted several times about the incident.
Covington hasn’t responded to the allegations and hasn’t tweeted in weeks.
Covington told police on Tuesday that Masvidal “went up to him from his left and without notice punched him two times in the face with a closed hand,” according to the complaint. Covington suffered a shattered left front tooth and an abrasion on his left wrist.
Masvidal is a suspect in the case, and he could be charged with violence.
