Concern in the medical community

Officials in Maharashtra have issued a warning that positive instances are remaining undetected because persons who test positive do not tell the appropriate agencies of their status. The problem has been brought up by the COVID-19 national task committee as well.

High usage of home testing kits may be the cause. Every one of the simple-to-use testing kits comes with a unique QR code to assure authenticity and traceability.

Apps like Mylab CoviSelf and CoviFind need users to log in using their mobile phone numbers. After that, users must scan the QR code. To verify the results, they must take a photo of the test card once it has been administered.

Herein lies the problem: It is not required for users to upload their results.

Home testing kits do not collect any information. No, this is only a screening test. Those who use self-testing kits are a mystery to us. To escape quarantine, many people are utilizing the self-testing kits and getting positive results, but they aren’t posting the findings. When people disregard COVID-19 protocols, the infection spreads more widely.
