The Queen has cancelled her virtual engagements for Tuesday due to mild, cold-like symptoms from Covid, according to royal officials.
The 95-year-old queen will “will continue with light duties” according to a statement from Buckingham Palace. On Sunday, it was revealed that the Queen had tested positive for Covid and was suffering from minor symptoms.
According to palace officials, the Queen has yet to determine if she will attend any other events this week. This covers things like the prime minister’s weekly phone call or any diplomatic audiences with foreign ambassadors.
She will still attend an in-person engagement at a diplomatic reception in Windsor Castle next week, according to current plans.

The news that Covid had been apprehended by the Queen had been accompanied by assurances that she was well enough to continue with minor responsibilities like working on state papers. It was interpreted as a business-as-usual message, intended to allay any concerns about her health.
The Queen signed off a letter of congratulations to the Winter Olympics GB curling teams shortly after the announcement on Sunday about capturing Covid, then on Monday she issued a message of sadness to Brazil following devastating flooding.
Buckingham Palace has a policy of keeping the Queen’s health a private matter and only providing minimal information.
According to the most recent information, the Queen will not be attending any engagements on Tuesday.

Last week, the Queen, who turns 96 on April 21, was spotted standing with the aid of a walking stick, despite recent health issues.
The UK started the Platinum Jubilee year festivities earlier this month to celebrate her 70 years on the throne — the first British queen to do so.
The announcement of her Covid diagnosis generated an outpouring of well wishes from all across the world, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, it provides no further detail regarding her Covid case, echoing the weekend’s description of “mild, cold-like symptoms”
A number of others have also tested positive in what looks to be a Covid outbreak at Windsor Castle, according to reports.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, both had Covid recently.
