Washington: – Maju Varghese, the White House Military Office’s Indian-origin director, has resigned for personal reasons.

Varghese stated in a series of tweets on Saturday that commanding the White House Military Office (WHMO) was a once-in-a-lifetime honor.

“I’m overcome with emotion today as a 2.5-year odyssey comes to an end. Grateful to have served @POTUS and for the connections formed during the early primaries, when we were counted out but came back to win it all.” I am grateful to @BidenInaugural for providing the country with a day to celebrate despite all of the hardships we have experienced. Thank you to the men and women of the White House Military Office for accepting me and educating me about service and sacrifice,” he said.

Varghese, a veteran of the Obama administration, joined the Biden White House after overseeing the president’s inauguration operations and acting as a senior advisor and chief operational officer for Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign, according to CNN.

Varghese “is departing his post Friday after several years working in President Joe Biden’s orbit,” according to the statement.

“One thing I’ve learned from my two tours here is that it’s a tough place to work, and that’s because the work is so vital that we put all we’ve got into it…

For the time being, it’s better for me and my family if I simply attempt to find a little more balance “According to CNN, Varghese, who is in his early forties, said.

He did not, however, elaborate on his next plans.

Varghese used to coordinate with the military branches responsible for supporting presidential operations at the White House and on the road, including Air Force One missions, secure communications via the White House Communications Agency, food services, the medical unit, and Camp David, the presidential retreat frequented by the Biden family, as head of the military office, according to the report.

Varghese was born in the United States to parents who emigrated from Thiruvalla, Kerala. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics.

Developing methods for running a campaign, inauguration, and White House military support in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak was one of Varghese’s main concerns over the last two years, according to the study.

Varghese is “one of the most tested, trusted and talented leaders on Team Biden” according to Deputy White House Chief of Staff Jen O’Malley Dillon.

“As the country faced confounding crises a year ago, he led the team that orchestrated a historic, unforgettable inauguration that defined the tone of our first year in office,” Dillon was quoted as saying in the report. “Maju not only embodies the President’s core values, but instills them in all of us through his service, optimism, and heart.”

Varghese praised Dhillon and others for putting their faith in him to lead teams “throughout this incredible ride” in his tweets.

“I endeavored to lead with my full heart in the service of two Presidents and in the spirit of my father. Thank you very much, team! I’ll always be a friend and ally to you, “he stated

Varghese formerly worked for President Barack Obama in the White House, where he held positions such as assistant to the president for management and administration and deputy director of advance. He has previously served as a senior advisor at Dentons and as the chief operational officer of The Hub Project.
