Spider-Man: No Way Home is doing well at the box office in India and around the world. The Tom Holland-starrer picture had made 148 crore in India by Thursday, having completed its extended one-week run (it opened in India last Thursday). It is projected to reach 150 crore by Friday. By Thursday, the film had already surpassed the $800 million mark worldwide, surpassing the Bond film No Time to Die as the most successful Hollywood movie of the year.

The picture has amassed remarkable box office numbers in India, grossing 148 crore in its first eight days and surpassing the total lifetime collection of all Spider-Man films in the country. The release of 83 and the continued success of Pushpa: The Rise are likely to offer it competition heading into the Christmas weekend, but trade experts predict that the picture will approach the 200-crore mark.

It’s also setting new records throughout the world every day, establishing itself as the most powerful film of the epidemic age. No Way Home has grossed $813 million globally by Thursday, overtaking No Time To Die as the year’s highest-grossing Hollywood film. However, it remains in third place among the highest-grossing films of 2021, trailing only Chinese blockbusters The Battle at Lake Changjin and Hi, Mom, both of which have grossed over $900 million. Analysts believe that No Way Home will shortly overtake the two. According to industry insiders, No Way Home is on track to become the first and only billion-dollar film of 2021.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is directed by Jon Watts and stars Tom Holland in the titular role, as well as Benedict Cumberbatch, Zendaya, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Apart from his appearances in earlier MCU films, this is Tom’s third solo adventure as Spider-Man.
