As per reports, Will Smith has decided to pay for the $100,000 tab for the pyrotechnics over the Mississippi River. As a result, fireworks are surely making a comeback in New Orleans. Will Smith is presently in New Orleans shooting for his new upcoming film ‘Emancipation’ which is based on the story of a slave, Peter, and how he escaped from a plantation in Louisiana. The photo of scars on Peter’s back from being beaten by a whip revealed the brutality of slavery. Peter also fought for the Union in the Civil War.

Will Smith decided to take the production of the movie from Georgia to Louisiana in the month of April. The move was made after Georgia imposed a fresh voting law prompting a federal lawsuit stating the overhaul had intentions to deny Black voters equal access to the ballot.
