New character posters for Star Wars: The Bad Batch’s forthcoming second season on Disney+ have been made available.

There are a total of six posters featuring each of the core five members of the Bad Batch and their former comrade Crosshair that were posted on Twitter by the official Star Wars account. By the end of The Bad Batch Season 1, the marksman had fully aligned with the Empire and turned against the group. His poster for Season 2 depicts him still wearing his Imperial armor. The additional solo posters for the core cast reveal that the team’s Season 1 armor has been repainted, switching out the red and black color scheme for one with more orange and brown components.

Early in May 2022, the series’ Season 2 teaser was published. In the official Season 2 trailer, which debuted in early December, more was revealed about The Bad Batch’s new armor. According to the clip, the gang is still performing jobs for the Trandoshan Cid and attempting to make ends meet in a galaxy that the Empire now rules. But in addition to showcasing the ranks of the Bad Batch, the trailer also teases the reappearance of several beloved Star Wars: The Clone Wars characters, including Captain Rex, Wookie padawan Gungi, and Commander Cody.

Commander Cody Returns in The Bad Batch

One of the most significant Season 2 additions to The Bad Batch is Cody. He was once the Clone Commander who fought with Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Clone Wars. He is seen working for the Empire in the trailer and donning new Imperial armor, however as of this writing, he has not yet received a character poster for Season 2. Cody formerly served as a commander in The Clone Wars to whom the Bad Batch, also known as Clone Force 99, directly reported.

Since the events of The Bad Batch take place after the collapse of the Republic, Cody’s previous canon appearance was in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), where he attempted to murder Kenobi as a result of Emperor Palpatine carrying out Order 66. The order caused all clones who had Inhibitor chips implanted to turn on the Jedi Order and start killing its members. Crosshair, Captain Rex, and The Bad Batch have all taken out their Inhibitor chips, although it is unknown if Cody has done the same.

Prior to the team’s spinoff debuting on Disney+ in May 2021, The Bad Batch was initially presented in the opening arc of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7. Season 1 had a total of 16 episodes, and Season 2 is expected to have a similar number.

Season 1 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is currently streaming on Disney+, and Season 2 will debut on January 4, 2023.
