The complete trailer for the much awaited mystery thriller Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is now available on Netflix. The sequel to Rian Johnson’s critically acclaimed 2019 murder thriller Knives Out stars Daniel Craig. In this follow-up, Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc journeys to Greece to investigate a case involving a fresh group of suspects. Along with Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista, the A-list cast this time includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, and Madelyn Cline.

But there’s a good reason why the streamer gave “Glass Onion” its biggest big-screen commitment to date. The film, which resurrects Daniel Craig’s eccentric sleuth and brings in a motley crew of celebrities, including Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, and Kate Hudson, is one of today’s few family-friendly offerings that doesn’t rely on superheroes or high-octane action sequences to appeal to both young and old audiences. Approximately 600 North American cinemas will screen “Knives Out 2” for a week starting on November 23 before it becomes available on streaming services on December 23.

In the trailer, we see Miles Bron (Norton), a tech billionaire, inviting his close friends and Blanc to his private island in Greece for a weekend party. Bron organises a treasure hunt and jokes that he’ll be killed tonight. However, things take a serious turn when a murder occurs. Blanc is now tasked with solving a murder mystery involving a colourful cast of characters.

Compared to the Knives Out trailer, the Glass Onion one is more opulent and stylish. Bron’s weekend party’s attendees were all from the glamour world, which is not surprising given the Mediterranean setting’s addition of elegance to the visuals. But as always, Blanc is the centre of attention since she is driven to uncover all of the suspects’ most sinister secrets in order to catch the murderer. Along with developing the script and directing the movie, Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman co-produced it. Following a competitive bidding war with Apple and Amazon, Netflix reached an agreement with Johnson in March 2021 to produce two sequels with Craig playing Blanc.
