Both reviewers and viewers have responded differently to “Witches’ Well.” Mixed reviews have resulted from the film’s original take on the found footage genre and Amanda K. Morales’s self-driven endeavor.
The Horror Enthusiast: “As both an actress and a director, Amanda K. Morales gives a terrifying performance. Even though some people might find the found footage style a bit excessive, the atmospheric tension is definitely present.”
Cinema Sinister: “The film’s Edinburgh setting works well to create a suspenseful atmosphere. Morales’s portrayal of Leona Chantraine is intense, but the plot occasionally lapses into familiar horror tropes.”
Scotland’s Scares: “A fantastic attempt to combine paranormal thrills with historical intrigue. Although the pacing could have been tighter, Morales’s direction does a good job of keeping viewers on edge.”
