Zelda Williams describes directing Lisa Frankenstein as a challenging yet rewarding experience for her first time

Zelda Williams is discussing her experience directing her first feature picture, Lisa Frankenstein, which will make its theatrical debut on February 9.

In an additional interview with People, Zelda, Robin Williams' daughter, described how the universe helped her get the job as director on the movie.

"The pandemic struck, and the other films I had planned to make simply didn't make it," she remarked. Zelda continued, "Strangely, this was the strange little train that did, and I am very grateful."

Williams, the late actor and comedian Robin Williams' daughter, revealed on Twitter, now X, that she had dated Lisa Frankenstein back in 2022. She called the movie's script "the most crazy, amazing zombie script" she had ever read.

In a recent interview with People, the film's screenplay, Diablo Cody, revealed that she was taken aback to discover that Zelda had no prior experience directing a feature.

“The very first time we met, I thought to myself, ‘I can't believe this person has never directed a feature before, because I feel like I’m meeting someone who's 10 films in.’ It was that confidence that drew me to her and also just that she had such an innate understanding of the source material.”
