Will Smith Apologizes To Chris Rock Over The Slapping Controversy

Will Smith has apologised to comedian Chris Rock for slapping him at the Oscars last Sunday. Will Smith issued a lengthy apology on Instagram, calling his actions "unacceptable and inexcusable."

 "Jokes about my physical condition are a part of the work," Will Smith wrote, "but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to handle, and I reacted emotionally." 

Chris, I'd like to officially apologise to you. I was both out of line and incorrect. I'm embarrassed, and my actions do not reflect the guy I aspire to be. 

Violence has no place in a world of love and peace."

Smith also issued an apology to the Academy, writing “I would like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world.” 

He said sorry to Serena Williams’s family, noting, “I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family.  

deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.”  

He concluded by stating, “I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will.”
