. Charles Croker, a former college football star, is now a late-middle-aged Atlanta conglomerate king whose colossal ego has finally collided with reality.
Charlie owns a 29,000-acre quail-shooting plantation, has a young and demanding second wife, and a half-empty office complex with a mountain of debt.
While this is happening, Conrad Hensley, a young, idealistic father of two, loses his job at the Croker Global Foods warehouse close to Oakland and finds himself sinking deeper and deeper into the American legal system.
