A highly anticipated new romantic comedy starring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, and Joey King is in the works at Netflix.
The plot revolves around a young woman, her mother, and her movie star boss. Here’s what we know so far about the film, provisionally titled The Family Affair.
The yet-untitled romantic comedy will be directed by Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese, whose credits include P.S. I Love You, Paris Je t’aime, Freedom Writers, and others. LaGravenese and Carrie Solomon collaborated on the script.
Roth/Kirschenbaum Films is produced by Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Alyssa Altman. The project’s casting directors are Tara Feldstein, Chase Paris, and Rich Delia
The legendary actress Nicole Kidman, whose most recent work includes Nine Perfect Strangers, Being Ricardos, and Aquaman, will play the lead role in the film.
In the past, Kidman collaborated with Netflix on Ryan Murphy’s The Prom. She will be accompanied by Joey King and Zac Efron from the movies Baywatch and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (Uglies, The Kissing Booth
On the reality series Down to Earth with Zac Efron, which will soon return for a second season, Efron has already collaborated with Netflix

The Family Affair has yet to be released on Netflix, but given that filming will begin later this year, we can expect it in 2023.
The untitled film is now under pre-production and will begin filming in August 2022. The majority of production listings indicate that filming will begin in early August 2022 and continue until October 2022. It will be held entirely in Atlanta, Georgia
