What is Malik Beasley's LA Lakers contract? Salary, duration, and more
Sharpshooter Malik Beasley was acquired by the LA Lakers from the Utah Jazz as part of a three-team transaction with Minnesota at the trade deadline.
Beasley was added to the Lakers' roster to improve their 26th-ranked team's 3-point percentage (33.7%). He is now under a deal that will allow the Lakers financial freedom this summer.
Beasley, who is 26 years old, will earn $15.6 million this year. He then has a $16.5 million club option for the following season.
Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka made it clear after the trade deadline that LA acquired players like Beasley to improve the team’s shooting
“Going into the trade deadline, we wanted to address the shooting, spacing, and more wing depth and size,” Pelinka said.
Malik Beasley averaged 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 2.7 3-pointers per game in his first three games for LA.
Over 55 games with Utah, Beasley averaged 13.4 ppg, 3.6 RPG, 1.7 APG, 0.8 SPG, and 3.1 3pg while shooting 39.6% and 35.9% from deep.
Beasley’s long-term future in LA will likely depend on how successful the Lakers are over the stretch run of the season.
