Thor's (Chris Hemsworth) retirement and quest for inner peace is disrupted by Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), a galactic assassin who desires the gods' extermination.

To counter the menace, Thor enlists the aid of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who, to Thor's amazement, wields his mystical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

They embark on a perilous cosmic journey together to unravel the secret surrounding the God Butcher's revenge and stop him before it's too late.

The bifrost will blast the Marvel Phase 4 project into theatres around the world this summer (or winter, if you're in the southern hemisphere).

With less than two months till the release of Thor 4, now is the time to brush up on all you need to know about the upcoming Marvel film.

So, what's the latest with Thor: Love and Thunder? For starters, director Taika Waititi has stated that Thor's fourth solo picture will not be the completely side-splitting superhero film that we expect.

Sure, it'll be funny – the teaser video hinted at that – but the picture will also have lots of conceptual resonance and gloomy elements.
